It's almost that time of year again; the night’s drawing in, the days getting colder, and Christmas is just a matter of weeks away. Here at Heacham Manor, we're already getting excited about the festive fun coming up at the hotel and the surrounding area.
This Christmas our hugely popular Christmas Break package returns, and in this article we'll be taking a closer look at the Christmas Break itinerary, as well as some of the Christmassy events taking place in North Norfolk.
The Christmas Break
This 3-night break is the perfect way to celebrate Christmas 2019 in style. Guests arrive on Christmas Eve and are greeted with warmed mince pies, and a choice of mulled wine or tea and coffee. In the evening, you will be treated to a champagne reception in the bar area, followed by a sumptuous 3-course dinner in our award-winning Mulberry Restaurant.
On Christmas morning, we treat you to a full English breakfast, before you retire to your room, or take the opportunity to explore the surrounding area before lunch. Christmas dinner is then served over four courses with all the trimmings between 12.30 PM - 2.30 PM. In the evening, we provide a Christmas buffet, followed by liqueurs and chocolates, before finishing finally with a Christmas quiz with prizes including a 2-Night Break at Heacham Manor!
On Boxing Day, the morning starts again with one of our wonderful full English breakfasts. Our guests are then free to fill the remainder of the day as they wish, perhaps relaxing in the Mulberry Spa, taking a walk on the North Norfolk coastline, or by playing a round at 18-hole Heacham Manor golf course. Guests return between 4.00 PM - 5.00 PM for cream teas with fruit scones, before finishing with a 3-course dinner in the evening, followed by our Kings and Queens Fun Casino Night. Playing for prizes there is nothing to lose. So try your hand at Black Jack or take a spin on the Roulette Table!
Things to do During the Christmas Break
For our Christmas Break guests, we like to ensure that they have the leisure to enjoy the festive season in their own way. While there’s plenty to do back at the hotel, here’s a couple of ideas for things to do in the surrounding area around the festive period:
A Royal Morning Service at Sandringham
Heacham Manor is just a 15-minute drive from Sandringham, the Christmas country residence of the Royal Family. Every year the Royal Family attend morning service on Christmas Day at St Mary Magdalene Church. The service normally begins at around 11 AM, but you will want to get there earlier if you're hoping to catch a glimpse of the Windsor’s!
Watch the Round Table Christmas Morning Charity Swim
Every Christmas Day on Hunstanton beach, hundreds of hearty souls defy the weather and take to the sea for a morning swim! The tradition extends back some 60 years, and always attracts a sizeable crowd. If you're feeling really brave, you could even take part yourself!
A Boxing Day Beach Walk
Heacham Manor is perfectly situated for a number of coastal walks, the closest being the charming town of Hunstanton, offering a traditional British seaside experience, while the famous west-facing beach provides stunning views as the sun sets. If you feel like travelling a little further afield for a seaside walk, Holkham, Wells and Brancaster are a short drive away and are some of the most beautiful beaches in the country.
