Heacham Manor Golf Course on the Norfolk Coast

Our 18-hole golf course opened in May 2009 and within a matter of years was praised as ‘Norfolk’s most exciting new club’ by UK magazine Club Golfer.

With our hotel facilities on hand, including our treatment rooms and two bars, wives, friends and families can relax in comfort while you play.

Frosty Greens and Winter Golf:

We have a policy here at Heacham Manor of opening when there is frost present. With play on normal greens and tees.

To add more incentive to the fact we are open, if a heavy frost is present and the ground is frozen hard, or a residue of snow is on the ground (and is likely to last through the day), we will discount the golf green fee rate to the applicable Twilight rate irrespective of the time you tee off.

Meal specials are still available and in frosty conditions Twilight prices will apply.

Heacham Manor Golf Course for all levels of golfers. The course has been designed as an American-style links for all levels of player. It is intersected by two rivers, both of which feature on six of the 18 holes.

A wide variety of native trees and shrubs have been planted to enhance the difficulty of the holes and complement the ‘links’ feel to the course. There are also four lakes, the largest of which is the backdrop for the ‘signature hole’, the par-three seventh.

Notification of road closure

Road works are set to commence on 5th September, at the junction between the A149 and Hunstanton Road leading to Heacham Manor.

These works will close the junction for all traffic turning into Hunstanton Road from the A149 until 31st March 2017.

During this period all traffic accessing Heacham Manor Golf Course will have to do so by turning into Heacham at the Norfolk Lavender traffic lights into Lynn Road (and then right after Tesco express) or down Church Lane (and right at the T-junction).

An enjoyable course - one of the best in Norfolk

The front nine are the more ‘American links style’ and include three large lakes to be avoided. The first and second of those are connected by a winding stream fed by a weir that protects the front of the short, par-three fifth. The third and largest lake is the setting for the seventh, which requires a well-struck shot to carry the 100 yards of water fronting the green. The eleventh also incorporates the large lake, which challenges you to take on the green with your second shot.

The next three holes enter parkland, with wide views of The Wash from the fourteenth. The fifteenth plays from an elevated tee towards the hotel, in full view of the terrace and conservatory. The final three holes cross the Heacham River and the 18th is a reachable par 5, but beware the Ringstead River beside it.

The course is designed for players of all standards, and has five sets of tee positions. The championship tee plays a course of over 7,000 yards while the blue junior tees are around 5,700 yards.

A distinct character, born from its beautiful norfolk coast location

Heacham Manor Golf Course might be young, but it is growing up fast. On the undulating ‘links’ style front nine the landscaping has settled in and the shrubs have thrived, while the trees of the parkland back nine are just how nature intended.

Recent drainage work has rid the course of standing water in the winter, while the water features remain as challenging as ever. Thanks to our experienced head green-keeper, the greens are faster and the fairways thicker.

Last but no way least, our 19th, the Avocet Bar, has become a popular local watering hole.
