One of the best in Norfolk

A wide variety of native trees and shrubs have been planted to enhance the difficulty of the holes and complement the ‘links’ feel to the course. There are also four lakes, the largest of which is the backdrop for the ‘signature hole’, the par-three seventh.

An enjoyable course

The front nine are the more ‘American links style’ and include three large lakes to be avoided. The first and second of those are connected by a winding stream fed by a weir that protects the front of the short, par-three fifth. The third and largest lake is the setting for the seventh, which requires a well-struck shot to carry the 100 yards of water fronting the green. The eleventh also incorporates the large lake, which challenges you to take on the green with your second shot.

The next three holes enter parkland, with views of The Wash from the fourteenth. The fifteenth plays from an elevated tee towards the hotel, in full view of the terrace and conservatory. The final three holes cross the Heacham River and the 18th is a reachable par 5, but beware the Ringstead River and Ray's Creek beside the green.

The course is designed for players of all standards, and has four sets of tee positions. The championship tee plays a course of 6786 yards while junior tees are around, 4500 yards.

A distinct character, born from its beautiful Norfolk coast location

Heacham Manor Golf Course might be young, but it is growing up fast. On the undulating ‘links’ style front nine the landscaping has settled in and the shrubs have thrived, while the trees of the parkland back nine are just how nature intended.

Recent drainage work has rid the course of standing water in the winter, while the water features remain as challenging as ever. Thanks to our head green-keeper, the greens are faster and the fairways thicker.

Last but no way least, our 19th, the Avocet Bar, has become a popular local watering hole.

August 2018

"Following the development and seeding of Heacham Manor Golf Course in Hunstanton (Norfolk) back in 2008 the grasses have been nurtured and loved throughout the grow in period and ongoing establishments of the course. The Manor has been designed and built for traditional British summer conditions, hot and dry, and with 2018 being one of the driest and hottest summers on record, "The Manor" is showing off its true glory as a manicured American styled inland links course, with firm long hitting fairways and probably the finest fescue greens in Norfolk, putting true and fast. Being one of the newest courses in Norfolk, it is already up there with the best and the next few months at The Manor will be a truly amazing experience."
