Europe’s Biggest Christmas Show
The Thursford Christmas Spectacular is a breathless celebration of the festive spirit. Now the biggest show of its kind in Europe, Thursford began life 43 years ago as a small carol concert. Under the guidance of director John Cushing, it has grown into an all-singing, all-dancing, Christmas bonanza, attracting over 5.7 million visitors to date.
Set in a festive fairytale world of organs and fairground carousels, a cast of nearly 150 singers, dancers, musicians and technicians deliver a three-hour traditional variety performance, including singing, dancing, music and comedy.
This is the highlight of the festive season in Norfolk, and its fusion of traditional Christmas music and spectacular Las Vegas-style entertainment attracts visitors from across the country.
What to Expect this Year
This year's Thursford Christmas Spectacular promises to be even more extravagant than ever. With a production budget of £2m and a new lighting installation, the show's organisers are expecting this to be Thursford's biggest ever season.
Some of the highlights of this year's show include everything from a Nutcracker-inspired Parade of Wooden Soldiers, to a Country and Western hoedown. Traditional Thursford favourites are also on the bill, with the likes of Ventriloquist Steve Hewlett and his puppet sidekick Arthur Lager, musician Phil Kelsall, Cirque du Soleil roller skaters Royer and Emelie, and speciality act Billy George all returning to delight showgoers.
For the younger visitors to Thursford, there is Santa’s Magical Journey, where children make their way through a magical forest, encountering snowmen, penguins and polar bears on the way to Santa’s House to meet Father Christmas himself.
Each year, Heacham Manor partner with Thursford to deliver our hugely popular Thursford Christmas Spectacular breaks, including a one night stay at Heacham Manor, a luxury Elizabethan hotel located near Hunstanton, 3 Course Dinner in the AA Rosette Awarded Mulberry Restaurant, return coach transfer from the hotel to Thursford, tickets to the show, and a full English breakfast for the morning after!
